I have just this past week recieved my retro coat bio+. I am very pleased with it, the quality of it far surpassed my expectations. The fit was for me perfect, i do a lot of walking with my dogs, I did get a jacket from you which was good but I needed a longer one. This one is long enough to come down below the tops of my wellingtons, also I like the internal rain flap inside so angled rain can’t get under press studs a function that wasn’t obvious in the description. I look forward to a real test in heavy rain which as I live in England shouldn’t be long.

5-Month Update: The Bio+ (Olive Green) – Fashion Statement or Robust Tool? The most important points first:Farmerrain is increasingly positioning itself as a fashion brand – and this coat successfully bridges the gap. The matte olive green looks subtle and practical for everyday wear, as a great addition to the classic high-gloss range. At the same time, it remains a robust outdoor tool that effortlessly withstands the heavy abrasion of a 10 kg camera backpack.Fit, Length & Style (Size XL): I am 182 cm tall. In size XL, the coat is 133 cm long. This offers maximum protection and plenty of legroom for cycling. Note on sizing: Shorter individuals should carefully check the length to preserve their freedom of movement in daily life. When climbing stairs with the coat unbuttoned, even I have to be careful.Material & Look (The Matte Alternative): Despite 430g/m², the Biovinyl+ feels softer and more flexible than on the Retrocoat 2.0. The matte olive green is an excellent, understated addition to the brand’s classic high-gloss range. The look is absolutely authentic and earthy – perfect for anyone seeking a more subtle variation that blends in quietly in nature and daily life.Functional Upgrades & Hood: The storm flap over the closure makes the coat consistently weatherproof in wind and pouring rain. The hood features an integrated brim for optimal rain protection. It does not fit over a bicycle helmet, but sits perfectly over a baseball cap, with the hood’s brim extending protectively over the cap’s visor for a completely clear field of vision.Endurance Test: 10 km Cycle, Heavy Rain & 10 kg Backpack: The A-line shape provides natural ventilation while cycling and reduces heat buildup. In the meantime, I have worn the coat in heavy rain – it keeps you absolutely dry. Particularly impressive after 5 months: even under a heavy, approx. 10 kg camera backpack, the coating on the shoulders shows no signs of wear or abrasion. An advantage not to be underestimated compared to sensitive outdoor membrane jackets. Conclusion: An honest piece of clothing that perfectly masters the balance between brand ambition and uncompromising, mechanical durability in everyday use.
