By our responsibility, we mean what actually applies when you shop with Farmerrain: repairs, warranty, the statutory right to complain under Swedish consumer law, and the information a trader is required to provide under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the Swedish Distance Contracts Act. In the event of discrepancies between the language versions of this page, the Swedish text takes precedence, since the agreement is governed by Swedish law.

Norway (VOEC): Farmerrain is registered under the Norwegian VOEC scheme (VAT On E-Commerce). This means Norwegian VAT is already included in the price at the time of purchase, and as a customer in Norway you avoid customs and import charges on delivery.

If a parcel is not collected and is automatically returned to us, a fee of SEK 250 is charged to cover our shipping costs.

5. Right of withdrawal (14 days)

As a consumer, under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen) you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without having to state a reason.

To exercise your right of withdrawal:

1. Notify us within 14 days via info@farmerrain.com, preferably with your order number. 2. Return the goods unused and in substantially unchanged condition, in the original packaging if possible, within a reasonable time. 3. You are responsible for the return shipping cost unless otherwise stated. 4. We will refund what you paid (excluding the original standard shipping cost) within 14 days of us receiving the goods, or proof that they have been sent back.

Refunds are always made to the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal: The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that have been manufactured to your specific instructions or that have been given a clear personal character, for example if you ordered an item with a customised length, colour combination or model that deviates from the standard range. You may use our withdrawal form if you wish, but it is not a requirement – a clear message to us is enough.

6. Returns and exchanges

Return address: Svenska Regnkläds AB, Käsemåla 106, 361 92 Emmaboda, Sweden.

Processing time

Returns and exchanges are normally processed within approximately 5 business days of us receiving the parcel. During particularly busy periods this may take somewhat longer.

We offer exchanges within 14 days of the delivery date. The returned item must be in the same condition as when you received it, i.e. unused and with the original packaging intact.

As the customer, you are responsible for the shipping cost when returning an item. If you are a customer outside the EU, please contact us before sending anything.

If you return a defective item, Farmerrain arranges and pays for the collection. If the complaint is justified, we will also refund reasonable shipping costs incurred in connection with the return.

If the complaint is not justified, you are responsible for all transport costs yourself, including our cost of sending the item back to you once the matter has been handled.

The item should always be well packaged, and you should keep the receipt for the postage cost. You are responsible for the parcel until it has been received by Farmerrain – so please include a tracking number if possible.

Sale items are not covered by the right to return or exchange unless otherwise stated.

Special orders involving a changed length, colour or model are not covered by the right to exchange or return (see also the exception to the right of withdrawal in point 5).

On an approved return, we refund the money as soon as possible, no later than 14 days after the item has been returned and received by us.

7. Statutory right to complain and warranty

Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen), you have the right to complain about defects that existed at the time of delivery for up to three years, provided the defect is reported within a reasonable time after you discovered it (reporting within two months is recommended).

The warranty applies for 3 years from the date you received your products. For the warranty to apply, it is required that

 the products have only been subjected to normal use intended for rain garments, and  the products have been handled in accordance with our care instructions.

On an approved complaint, Farmerrain pays the return shipping, and the return is handled via the carrier designated by Farmerrain.

Contact us at info@farmerrain.com with photos of the defect and your order number, and we'll help you further.

8. Personal data

We process your personal data (e.g. name, address, national ID number, email and phone number) in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The data is used to ensure delivery to you, manage your order, and for any credit checks. Your data is only accessible to Farmerrain and is shared only with the parties required to fulfil the purchase, such as shipping companies and payment services.

Farmerrain never sells your personal data on to third parties.

As a data subject, you have the right, among other things, to:  access the data we have stored about you,  have incorrect data corrected, and  request that your data be deleted.

9. Force majeure

Farmerrain is not liable for delays or shortcomings caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as strikes, staff illness, transport disruptions or import/export problems – whether these arise at Farmerrain or at our suppliers/partners.

If the force majeure event lasts longer than two months, both you and Farmerrain have the right to terminate the agreement without liability for damages.

10. Disputes

In the event of a dispute, Farmerrain voluntarily follows decisions from the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, www.arn.se

You can also turn to your municipality's consumer guidance service or the Swedish Consumer Agency (Konsumentverket, www.konsumentverket.se) for guidance.

Konsumentverket

If you are a customer in another EU country, you can also find the right dispute-resolution body via the European Commission's directory of national dispute resolution entities (consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu).

The EU's former joint Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was permanently closed on 20 July 2025 and has been replaced by this directory.

11. Changes to the terms

Farmerrain may change these terms. The terms that applied at the time of your order are the ones that apply to that purchase. We recommend that you read through the terms before each new order.

What an online retailer must disclose under EU and Swedish law
The EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), implemented in Sweden through the Distance Contracts Act, requires a trader to disclose before purchase, among other things: their identity and contact details (§1), the main characteristics of the goods/service, the total price including taxes and fees (§2), delivery and payment terms (§4), the right of withdrawal and how to exercise it (§5), the statutory right to complain (§7), and how to proceed in a dispute (§10). GDPR additionally requires information on how personal data is processed (§8).
The section references above refer to the sections in Farmerrain’s terms of purchase above, not to the article numbers in the directive itself.

Our responsibility in practice — complaints, warranty and repairs
Point 7 of the terms of purchase sets out the statutory framework. Here we go deeper into how it works in practice.

Statutory right to complain and warranty

The statutory right to complain

The statutory right to complain is not a warranty — it is a right that follows directly from the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (Konsumentköplagen) and which no company can contract away or shrink. It applies for three years from the purchase, for defects that were already present in the garment when you received it (an ‘original defect’).

During the first two years, the burden of proof is reversed: if the garment is defective, the defect is presumed to have been there from the start, and it is Farmerrain that must prove otherwise. In the third year, the burden of proof shifts — then it is the customer who needs to show that the defect was original.

A warranty is something different: a voluntary promise from the seller that sits on top of the statutory right to complain and can never provide weaker protection than the law.

How we distinguish defects, wear and accidents — concrete examples

  • Original defect (covered by the statutory right to complain): a seam that isn’t sufficiently welded; buttons that come loose; plain mistakes in sizing or cutting.
  • Normal wear (handled by the repair service): damage between the legs where the material becomes brittle or wears through — the most common wear point; the ankle ends rubbing against each other in muddy conditions — the second most common.
  • Accident (handled by the repair service — not by the statutory right to complain): a tear from walking into a nail, crawling under barbed wire, or catching on a sharp stick or stone on the ground. An accident is not a warranty or statutory-claim repair, but in the vast majority of cases it’s fully repairable at cost price or a strongly favourable price. An accident is not a sign that the material is too weak or badly made.

Complain in time, not at the last moment

If you complain within two months of discovering the defect, it always counts as being in time under the law (‘reasonable time’). If you wait longer, you risk having to prove yourself that the defect was there from the start, even if you’re still within the three years.

Spare parts and buttons

  • Buttons are already in stock today in Käsemåla.
  • The ‘buttons in the pocket’ feature — spare buttons in every garment’s inner pocket — is planned for introduction in autumn 2026.
  • Until then, loose buttons may possibly be included loose in the packaging as an interim step.

The model is inspired by the Norwegian children’s rainwear brand Kattnakken, which includes spare buttons (including for the foot strap) with every garment already at the point of purchase.

Repair scope — own brand and other brands

The repair guarantee applies only to Farmerrain’s own brand. For other brands in the range — such as Guy Cotten or Ålesund — we offer no guarantee, but we’re happy to help if we have the right skills and tools, as a best-effort undertaking rather than a promise.

Important distinction: repair versus museum donation

This should not be confused with Farmerrain's museum, which accepts worn-out PVC rain garments of ANY brand, regardless of age — there, it's not a matter of repair but of preserving the history of galon.

Repairs at Farmerrain

Yes. We want your clothes to last as long as possible, which is why we offer repairs that extend the garment's lifespan. You can repair it yourself with our repair kits or button kits, or send the garment in to us. We weld and repair at our warehouse in Emmaboda, or send it on to the factory when needed. When a garment reaches the end of its life, we're happy to take it back, so the material can be properly recycled or reused at our warehouse in Emmaboda.
