It depends on what you are going to do. Shell garments built on the multi-layer principle have a
membrane that breathes, which is good when you move a lot. But if you have a backpack, or sit
in a wet cockpit or on a saddle, you easily get wet in such a garment, because the water is
pressed against the fabric. During long days in persistent rain, water column and seams decide.
Vinyl rainwear is completely sealed and never needs to be impregnated. Vinyl, however, does
not breathe like a membrane. That is why several of our models have fixed ventilation: the
Hunter jacket together with the Hunter waist trousers, Adventure Anorak, Adventure jacket,
Trenchcoat 2.0 and Matching Kid waist trousers.

Shell clothing usually has a breathable membrane and a water-repellent surface treatment. The
vinyl layer in our rainwear is completely sealed, and it never needs to be impregnated. Vinyl,
however, does not breathe like a membrane. That is why several of our models have fixed
ventilation: the Hunter jacket together with the Hunter waist trousers, Adventure Anorak,
Adventure jacket, Trenchcoat 2.0 and Matching Kid waist trousers.

Look carefully at the size chart. Also measure a garment you already have that fits well: lay it
flat, measure straight across and double the measurement to get the circumference. Our unisex
sizes are perceived as slightly larger. If you are used to women’s sizes, they are at least one size
larger. If you are going to wear thicker clothes underneath, add 10–15 cm to the circumference
measurement. Look extra carefully at the rain jeans so that they do not end up too large.

It depends on what you are going to do. If you are going to be out all day in rain, we recommend
at least 10,000 mm water column and welded seams. If it is muddy, people usually choose both
trousers and a rain jacket, because you kick up mud onto your legs with your shoes and boots.
An overall suits when you wash machinery, work in a stable or when it is really muddy. For
everyday life we recommend a jacket or coat, for example Trenchcoat 2.0 or the Retro coat. If
you move a lot, there are models with ventilation, such as the Adventure Anorak (back
ventilation) and the Adventure jacket (ventilation on chest and back).

Most of our garments are unisex models, in sizes from XS to XXXL (36–46). For women we
particularly recommend the Retro coat and the Welded unlined coat. Wilma has sizes that are
closer to women’s sizes than unisex. Rain jeans are available for women and men, in waist
measurement and leg length: women 26/32–42/32 and men 28/32–44/32. The rain jeans have a
slightly tighter fit and are made to be worn over your jeans. Look extra carefully at the size
chart so that they do not end up too large.

The Three Pocket jacket, Trenchcoat 2.0, the Retro coat and the Unlined coat are our jackets
and coats for everyday life. The waterproofing is in the vinyl itself and not in a surface layer that
wears off, so you never need to impregnate it, and you wipe off dirt with a damp cloth. The
Biovinyl+ fabrics have a water column of over 20,000 mm, and most models have double-welded
seams. If you want to be prepared for a longer time outdoors, at a festival or to and from the
bus, you can complement with rain jeans.

Our Retro coat and Trenchcoat 2.0 suit dog walks well. The Retro coat comes in both glossy and
regular Biovinyl+. Our capes are another option: all have a hood and you can take your arms
out. Choose something that is easy to put on and easy to keep clean. If the dog has had muddy
paws and has been close to you during the walk, you simply wipe the vinyl with a damp cloth.

No. By our standards, 3,000 mm is normally not enough for rainwear, and we would never
recommend a rain garment at that level. It can resist some wind, but in rain it becomes doubtful
over time. For full days outdoors we recommend at least 10,000 mm.
