The Nature Lover Who Found the Perfect Fit with Farmerrain
Ulf, 48, or Uffe as he prefers to call himself, was born and raised in the city of Linköping in Sweden. It was in spring 2022 that Uffe decided to venture more into nature to kickstart his fitness journey. He made a personal commitment to go for walks, regardless of Sweden’s unpredictable weather. That’s when Uffe discovered Farmerrain for the first time.

When did you first discover Farmerrain?
I simply googled ‘Rainwear PVC,’ and Farmerrain’s website popped up. I was immediately captivated, prompting me to make my first order. If I recall correctly, it consisted of an anorak and a pair of shoulder pants,” Uffe reminisces.
But let's rewind a bit – who is Uffe?
I see myself as a naturally curious and social individual. I find great interest and excitement in trying new things, preferably in the company of friends. Loyalty is another core value for me; I’m always there for my friends. This commitment also extends to my work, where I consistently give my best, regardless of whether the task is enjoyable or mundane.
In more recent times, Uffe has delved into the world of disc golf, a sport introduced to him by his cousin. He appreciates it for its social aspects and as a means to stay active in the great outdoors.
What do you prefer to do on days without any commitments?
I often drive out to my family’s summer cottage in Loftahammar during weekends. Here, I spend a lot of time in nature, and I love to go fishing, which is one of my favorite hobbies. Whether I catch fish like pike, perch, or salmon, I really enjoy the special taste of the fish I catch myself, plus the direct connection to their origin is something I truly appreciate.
Uffe has a strong passion for capturing the beauty of nature through his camera lens. His secret? He always keeps his camera in the car, ensuring that he’s ever ready to capture the beauty of unexpected moments, be it a mesmerizing sunset or an encounter with captivating wildlife.
It seems like nature means a lot to you, is that correct?
For me, nature is one of the most beautiful things that exist. Many Swedes want to travel abroad in the summers, but I honestly don’t understand why. We have incredible nature here! Moreover, there’s an incredible variety.
The west coast has its own charm, and the east coast has its own. Then we have the mountains, which are entirely different. To me, nature is relaxation and a way to just be in the moment. It’s how I unwind after a week of work.
When it comes to outdoor clothing, Uffe prioritizes finding the perfect balance between comfort and style.
They should fit well and be comfortable. I should be able to spend a whole day by the lake, and they should still feel comfortable at the end of the day. Additionally, I highly value that they should be easy to take care of. All it takes is a cloth to wipe the garments clean, and then you’re done! This also makes it easier to make the clothes last for several years. Plus, the fact that they look good enough to wear in everyday life is a bonus.
Uffe’s attraction to Farmerrain stems from its ability to meet his criteria. The clothes, starting with his first anorak and shoulder pants, not only do their main job well but also look stylish. More than just being fashionable, he appreciates the quality and durability of Farmerrain products, believing they will last a long time.
So if you really have to choose, what is your number one garment from Farmerrain?
I probably have to say the high quality and that the clothes are really stylish, with the rain jeans becoming a clear favourite. I wear them nearly every evening on my walks, combining protection from the rain with a stylish and functional design. Just recently, someone on Instagram asked about the unique pants I was wearing, so I happily shared the link to the Farmerrain website.
There’s no doubt that nature means a lot to Uffe, so when we start talking about sustainability and the importance of creating quality that’s good for both people and the environment, it’s clear where Uffe stands on the matter.
We’ve ended up in a “use and throw away” society, which is a shame. It’s important to think about quality and not just throw our clothes away, but instead try to repair them. When I’m out taking photos, I’ve been able to crawl on the ground in Farmerrain’s clothing without them tearing, which says a lot.
Uffe continues:
There was one occasion when my anorak was missing a button, so I reached out to Farmerrain. They sent me a repair kit, and in just 10 minutes, I managed to fix the anorak. It’s somewhat similar to my job, where we help repair electronic devices instead of throwing them away.
We extend our sincere thanks to Uffe for sharing his story with us!
