Rain Gear for Children from Farmerrain – Durable Protection for Active Kids
Farmerrain’s rain gear for children is developed to give the youngest adventurers reliable weather protection – without limiting play or freedom of movement. With robust and waterproof materials, our children’s rain gear keeps kids dry and comfortable regardless of the weather, so that play can continue even when the rain is pouring down.
Designed for the child’s active everyday life
Children move a lot and place high demands on their clothing. Farmerrain’s rain gear for children is therefore designed with extra focus on freedom of movement, durability and practical use.
Sustainable and environmentally friendly materials – safe for children
Farmerrain’s children’s rain gear is manufactured with the environment in mind. We use materials that are both safe for children and gentle on the planet, without compromising on function and quality. A conscious choice for parents who care about their child’s wellbeing and want to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Long service life and the possibility of repair
An important part of Farmerrain’s philosophy is that garments should last long and be repairable when needed. The children’s rain gear is constructed to withstand heavy wear and continue to be used for many years – and when a garment has been outgrown, it can easily be passed on to a younger sibling or a friend. A sustainable and economically smart way to dress children for all weather.
The obvious choice for conscious parents
Farmerrain’s rain gear for children is the natural choice for parents who want to combine high quality, environmental awareness and practical function. Whether it is for daily walks, trips out in nature, nursery or play in the yard – our children’s rain gear gives children the freedom to explore the world in all weather.
A note for parents
It is worth bearing in mind that shell garments and breathable rain gear for children must have a water-repellent outer layer in order to function as intended.
You should think twice if you know that your child tends to put parts of a sleeve or collar in their mouth, as saliva mixes with the treated outer surface. If you have very active children who spend a lot of time in and around water, mud and similar environments, this type of clothing should be avoided altogether, as mud for example easily clogs the breathable pores and reduces or completely removes the garment’s performance.
It has also been very common to spray on or wash in DWR treatments that contain PFC substances. These substances are often referred to as PFAS, and efforts are now being made to phase them out rapidly, as they are harmful to public health. When a product is described as PFC-free or PFAS-free, alternative substances have been found to make the garments water-repellent. This is particularly important as highly fluorinated substances accumulate in the body over time – that is, they are bioaccumulative. This makes them entirely unsuitable for release into nature and waterways, and a major debate on this topic is beginning to gain momentum in Sweden.
