It has always rained, but there has never been environmentally certified rainwear. Now there finally is.<\/h2>\n

Who are we?<\/h3>\n

\u2013 How many people inherit a rain garment today? Our products should be usable for fifteen years or more. Quality that is good for you and the environment is what is most important to us.<\/p>\n

We who run Farmerrain are Carola and Jonas Carlsson. We are farmers at heart and live on a farm outside Emmaboda with our two sons. We have always had a burning interest in nature and the environment and have worked both consistently and consciously with sustainability. We have had Sweden’s largest herd of Highland cattle that were used to restore pastures, nature reserves and islands around Sweden in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund. It was in the early nineties that we started looking for sustainable workwear. But since the supply was very meager, the idea of \u200b\u200bdesigning and manufacturing our own was born. We used rainwear ourselves on the farm when we worked. But they didn’t last. The trousers in particular kept falling apart.<\/p>\n\t

Our origins<\/h3>\n

Around the turn of the millennium, we therefore began to create our own models in collaboration with the classic Grund\u00e9ns. Among other things, we developed our own shoulder trousers with a button instead of Velcro, which is now protected by design. Today, our focus is on \u201cgreen\u201d rainwear with minimal environmental impact under our Farmerrain brand. We recently received our long-awaited environmental product declaration according to EDP \u2013 an international system for environmental declarations. In 2010, we contacted Tarkett, who had developed a biomass for their plastic floors, and asked if it could be used for rainwear. They didn\u2019t believe in the idea. But we didn\u2019t give up. Today, we use a Swedish-made, fully recyclable vinyl fabric without toxic phthalates and fluorocarbons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
